DIGITAL POETRY

FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE

When writing poetry, it is possible to create imagery, or pictures by writing words. This is both easy and very effect. When you use figurative/descriptive language including metaphors and similes, the reader automatically sees pictures of the things being compared.

Read these directions carefully. You are about to create your first “digital poem”.

  1. Open imovie to see the images you have recorded.
  2. Open digital poetry document from the server.
  3. Use these digital images as your inspiration and begin to brainstorm thoughts and words on the left side of this sheet (side A).
  4. Write a first draft of your poem on the right side of sheet (side b).
