Student Decision Making
As part of the "getting to know you" phase of Day One students introduce themselves to instructor by telling what things interest them. Students brainstorm topics that interest them. Students pitch their ideas to others with similiar interests. With instructor and teacher assistance, students create their own groups based on topic selection. Each project group creates a KWL (Know, Want to Know, Learned) Chart in MS Word to explore what they already know about the topic, and what they want to know. Project groups select group leader. All students do research and take notes. Project groups select storyboard creater. Project groups select multimedia supervisor. Project groups self assess projects in progress and determine how to edit project. Students assess each others projects.
